This week we’re going to touch base on the weekly BCP stats before we head into the UTC recap. To give us some larger touch points before we zoom in on the happenings of the UTC!

With the impending release of Kill Team Hivestorm, it seems the competitive scene is holding in anticipation. With only 250 gamers over the last weekend, from the heady highs of summer's 500+ players. We here at Goonhammer are certainly very excited to see what October will bring. Of course don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for the new team reveals, whenever those drop!

Fantasy Books and Games Kill Team Competitive Tournament, (Fairview Heights, IL)

Fantasy books returns to the show, with WCW24 attendee Dylan G in attendance. 12 players duking it out over 3-rounds!

Adam H, had this to say about the last KT21 tournament before the changeover:

“Fantasy Books & Games in Fairview Heights, Illinois, hosted its last 2nd edition Kill Team tournament. It was a respectable turnout, with 12 players ranging from beginners to some of the best in the game. The day was divided into four rounds, providing a relaxed and friendly environment for participants. A variety of teams were present, with the Hearthkyn Salvagers taking 1st place thanks to the very capable Dylan Gill. Corbin Hoener secured 2nd with his menacing Legionary Marines, while Logan Anderson sneaked into 3rd place with his newly acquired Inquisitorial Agents. This event was a great way to send off one edition while excitedly anticipating the next, which happens to be 1" around the corer with its engage order assigned.”

NYHC Kill Team: Farewell to 2nd edition, (Dobbs Ferry, NY)

The Westchester region has hosted a small and semi regular tournament series run by WCW 2 time attendee Mike C out of the New York Hardcore Comics shop. Unfortunately the shop will be shutting down, and this is the last tournament there. With 3-rounds, and 8 players this is a small and bitter sweet UTC event.

Mike has been running the tournament series for over a year, and had some last words about the event and venue:

“On September 22nd, New York Hardcore Comics celebrated over a decade long history with one final event. The Westchester Warhammer community said farewell to KT second edition along with their beloved LGS. The last event had some long time regulars, as well as a few new friends coming together to battle it out one last time. It will be sad to say goodbye to the store, but the good times will never be forgotten. Thanks to Debo and Lee for keeping things going as long as they were able to.”

Upcoming Events

Looks like the UTC calendar is lying in wait for the upcoming new releases! We suspect many of our UTC friends are going to have kick off days much like the one I'll be running at the Brooklyn Strategist on October 05! Check with your LGS to find out more!
