Black Friday sale season is firmly upon us and it’s a great time to grab a deal. I’ve pulled together our reviews from the past year to help you find the right printer to expand your hobby space. All of the printers in this roundup are easy to setup and get started with, and you can take a look at our reviews below to see what we thought.
FDM Printers
Not every print job needs the fine detail that a resin printer delivers, and I’ve found my own Bambu P1S to be an absolute workhorse when it comes to getting terrain to the table. Supporting the Goonhammer Open in the UK, I printed around 20kg of scenery for our Horus Heresy narrative events.

Summer was new to 3D printing back at the start of 2025, and spent six months getting to grips with the Bambu Lab A1 before an excellent review and introduction to the A1 and filament printing. Highlighting communities and her own efforts to print miniatures with FDM, she proves you can still get good results without resorting to resin.

Uniformation
Uniformation GK3 Pro. Credit: Uniformation
Our first foray into pro-sumer resin printers, with the Uniformation GK3 Pro. Striking a balance between an increased build volume, without being overwhelming, the GK3 Pro is a feature rich workhorse for a great price. Particularly good for those of us who live in less temperate climates, the automatic vat heating makes for worry free printing any time of the year. WiFi connectivity, remote monitoring, and the resin vat autofill system combine to ensure that even if the printer is relegated to a garage or shed, the only time you’ll need to visit it is to pop fresh prints from the build plate.
