Warhammer Relics Festival Previews Upcoming Licensed Products

The meteoric growth of Warhammer’s popularity over the past ten years has led to Games Workshop increasing their focus on licensed products as a new vector for big profits, so much so they even made up a whole annual event to promote it. Warhammer Relics, which started three years ago as a way to show off upcoming licensed Warhammer products, returned last week for its 2026 showcase, giving fans a sneak peek at what’s to come later this year.
The showcase contained products from both old and new collaborators, over a wide variety of different products. Notable returning names are Joytoy and Weta Workshop, with Weta workshop showing off their new highly detailed scale statue of a Boingrot Bounder and Joytoy announcing a new wearable Space Marine helmet modeled after Titus’s from Space Marine 2.
Tomy and DK also returned this year for new announcements, with the former showing off a new line of stuffed Warhammer toys, including a wearable stuffed powerfist for punching your friends. DK comes in this year with an illustrated ultimate guide to Age of Sigmar, giving detailed looks at some of the game’s fantastic model range, and a book of Ork Quotes. Finally, Ultra-Pro announced high quality gaming mats for both Kill Team and Spearhead, with the Fire and Jade spearhead mat including objective markers printed on the surface.
Other minor announcements include new Horus Heresy wall banners, Necromunda Displates, Seth McFarlane action figures for the Blood Ravens, and a new Warhammer Fantasy roleplaying game edition from Cubicle 7.
Atomic Mass Games Scales Down Focus on Shatterpoint

According to a post from the company site last week, Atomic Mass is shifting the focus of its design and production teams to place more emphasis on its “flagship” games, Star Wars: Legion and Marvel Crisis Protocol, while cutting back on other titles in their catalogue. A surprising inclusion in this list of games being scaled back is Star Wars: Shatterpoint, which AMG is now relegating to a “Specialist Core Game”.
“Our goal is to build a stronger, more focused studio that can better cater to the needs of our players,” David Preti, Head of Crowdfunding Strategy and Miniature Lines at AMG’s parent company, Asmodee, wrote in the statement. “Realignment requires changes that can be challenging for our team and our community. But this step allows us to invest more deeply in the games our players care about most and to build a more sustainable foundation for the future.”
AMG only briefly clarified what it designating Shatterpoint as a specialist core game means for the game, writing that the game “will continue to be supported to ensure consistent availability and the highest level of gameplay experience possible by AMG, while streamlining the number of releases to align with the restructured development resources of the studio.”
AMG made a further clarification on what this means for Shatterpoint the next day, explicitly stating that Shatterpoint is not going anywhere and will continue to be supported through organized play and balance updates. As for new Shatterpoint releases, AMG notes that with the completion of the sequel trilogy character releases, it's time to adjust their strategy for the game, writing “it is now time to remove our foot from the gas in terms of the number and pacing of Shatterpoint new releases. With our original vision and hopes for the game achieved, the next phase of Shatterpoint is to be focused on sustainable growth and management. One that allows us to ensure the best for the game and its incredible community.”
Eurogamer Lays Off Most of Senior Editorial Staff
Credit: Eurogamer
What would the News Roundup be without your regularly scheduled some gut-wrenching layoffs in the gaming industry? This week, the unfortunate star of the show is Eurogamer, who according to reporting from VGC last week, has been hit with a round of deep cuts to staff by parent company IGN.
Eurogamer was purchased by IGN in 2026 alongside multiple other sites in the Gamer Network family such as Gamesindustry.biz and Rock Paper Shotgun, and was initially hit with a round of layoffs shortly following the purchase. With this round of cuts, IGN is targeting senior members of the editorial staff at Eurogamer, as well as its entire four person video department.
This rumored development at Eurogamer was later confirmed by postings on social media from former staff who were let go from their roles.
“Personal news: I'm leaving my Editor-at-large role at Eurogamer & Gamer Network as part of new cuts,” former Editor-at-Large at Eurogamer Alex Donaldson wrote. “I last year approached my move to Eurogamer & VG247's skeletonization with reluctance, but I ultimately greatly enjoyed giving EG a go. But now after 10yrs & in difficult conditions, it's time to go.”
VGC also reports that popular Youtube channel Outside Xbox, who was once a member of the former Gamer Network prior to the buyout, faced cuts to its behind the camera staff, despite the channel's three and a half million subscribers and successful UK live tour.
IGN nor Eurogamer has made any official post addressing these layoffs and redundancies.
Bluepoint Pitched Bloodborne Remake Prior to Closure
It turns out that it isn’t just the fans who have been begging games industry titan From Software for a Bloodborne remaster, remake, or port. According to Jason Schrier, the recently closed Bluepoint studios pitched a PS5 remake for Bloodborne in 2025, with Sony giving the studio the greenlight before Fromsoft declined the idea, shutting the entire project down.
In the article, Schrier details Bluepoint’s rocky development of a live service game based in the God of War universe, where players would take control of different aspects of Atreus as the son of Kratos descended into Hades, but the team struggled to develop an engaging gameplay loop. Frustrated by their lack of progress, Bluepoint shifted to a new pitch that they figured would be a surefire hit: a remake of Bloodborne for PS5.
While Sony executives were onboard with the idea, From Software politely declined. According to the article, sources close to Bloodborne creator Hidetaka Miyazaki say that he is interested in potentially revisiting Bloodborne in the future, but prioritizes developing new games first and does not want anyone else outside the company touching the game. Despite the potential for a remake to print money for Sony, Miyazaki’s influence in the modern gaming world gave him enough clout with executives to shut down the proposal from Bluepoint.
With the door to a potential Bloodborne remake firmly shut, Bluepoint would continue to struggle to find footing in the industry. Following the studio being passed over for a God of War original trilogy remake, it Sony closed Bluepoint for good in February 2026.
Newest Halo Flashpoint Expansion Adds Noble Team and Big Team Battles to the Tabletop
Credit: Mantic Games/343 Studios
Mantic is once again dropping fans of Halo: Flashpoint to the battlefields of a beloved spinoff title in the Halo series. The next expansion for Flashpoint takes players to Reach, and brings both the iconic Spartans of Noble Team and Big Team Battle game formats to the tabletop for the first time.
Noble Team, who make up the main cast of Halo: Reach, are cast in Mantic’s new MasterCraft resin, a higher quality of resin sculpts that allows for finer detail for each model, while still being sturdy and easy to use during assembly and gaming. MasterCraft resin was initially introduced in Halo: Flashpoint for special prize support models, with Noble Team representing the first time the new method is being used in mass production.
Alongside the members of Noble Team, the expansion includes rules for double mat games of Flashpoint, to emulate the larger scale battles of Halo’s popular Big Team Battles mode. To help get around on these larger battlefields, the expansion includes two mancannons that can launch Spartans across the map quickly, expediting these large scale battles and providing new angles for attack.
The Noble Team expansion is currently available for preorder on Mantic’s webstore, with a release window set for April of this year.
