Thoughts

All the raw power and durability of Ironstorm on display in this offering from Garrett. A castle of dreadnoughts can put out exorbitant amounts of boosted shooting, blank a crucial save as required via the Techmarine support, and keep on healing up even as the opponent attempts to bring down 2+ save dreads with access to -1 AP in a pinch. This list says 'nah' to artillery in favour of proper shooting, but packs a devastating reserves punch via two full units of Inceptors for those hard to reach places. A super powerful build, well done on the win!

Thoughts

Remarkable melee projection and damage via enormous numbers of Eightbound in this World Eaters offering, which eschews any filler or chaff in favour of all out damage potential (even the single Bezerkers squad hits ridiculously hard thanks to the characters hidden away in the Rhino with them). If you don't have a plan for this going first and covering enormous ground to murder you, then I'm afraid you are going to lose. Favoured of Khorne is a very important piece of tech as it gives you a bit more control of your Khorne dice variance to help get the key buffs (usually Advance and Charge and the Feel no Pain) and to bring Angron back from the grave to fight again. Be afraid! Congratulations on the top placing Frederick.

Thoughts

Jack Tite builds on the recent success of Sisters with this offering, which can remove enemy armour at a distance via the Exorcists, shove forward Arcoflagellants to brawl over the middle, and eliminate crucial hard targets with Triumph boosted meltas as required. Crusader squads let you control the fight phase via Suffering and Sacrifice, which can simply no sell an enemy trade attempt and leave them reeling. Sisters are really very good, and we are going to see a lot more of them. Spiritseers watch out, there's crossbows about! Well done to Jack on a well deserved GT 'triumph', teehee.

Thoughts

A nail biter of a showdown that pits two of the 'weaker' factions against one another. In the Sisters corner this offering from Aidan builds on the lists we have seen performing well in the last couple of weeks, with lots of brawler units, some indirect, and the janky goodness of Celestine to draw out enemy trades and then smite them down after a cheeky resurrection. Rhinos and Immolators give this a real transport rush feel, and it is well placed to dominate the board and take a heavy toll on those seeking to counter them.

The Drukhari have a wave of cheap nastiness of their own, with lots of Kabalites and Wracks mounted up to go out and die for points. In Talos, Scourges and Ravagers the Dark Kin are actually extremely good at bodying vehicle spam (which is a significant portion of Aidan's list). Where they tend to struggle is in dealing with the contents consistently as their melee leaves a lot to be desired, so digging the opponent out doesn't come quite as naturally to them. It's worth shouting out Urien Rakarth here- a wonderful plug in who brings some of that 'get back up again' energy and can help regenerate a wrack unit too, he's really quite good.

Both armies have tonnes of disposable units, great shooting and lots of ways to score and deny enemy scoring. As such it's no surprise to see this was a brutal and close affair, with the Sisters narrowly coming out on top. Really well done to both of you on such a good showing with lesser seen armies.

Thoughts

Proper stagey, shooty, stabby goodness from the Sisters of Battle, who flood the board with cheap threats and outmuscle you via sheer activations and the ability to insert some good fortune via Miracle dice where required. The Blade Palatine is extremely deadly into enemy characters and can help to control space, and the single Castigator can offer some quality hard target removal from the flanks. Aidan is a long time Sisters player and it's great to see him return home and thrive with them here, well done buddy.

Thoughts

GSC are in a strange spot these days. The raw output of Acolyte and Neophyte shooting is still horrifying, and this list goes all in on the latter with ONE HUNDRED of the little nutters. You can mitigate the board presence weakness the army has with the Inscrutable Cunning Clamavus, who can let one of these blobs forward deploy to block off and screen out the enemy for long enough for the big guns to get to work. Nonetheless, placing first with GSC is no easy task right now, very well done Colton!!
