The Come Out Fighting Kickstarter Combines RPGs and Wargames for a New Spin on WW2

We're always on the hunt for new historicals wargames, especially ones that can put a fresh spin on either the setting or the rules. We recently came across Come Out Fighting, a Kickstarter for a new game which aims to do both.

Created by John Carnahan, Come Out Fighting is inspired by the Band of Brothers board game rules and combines miniatures and role playing elements for a unique experience. It can be played as either a traditional, very tactical 15mm scale wargame, or you can dive into Memoir mode, which introduces 24 sergeants cards that give your troops an edge in combat and can be retained in future games as you accomplish goals and handle events on their associated cards.

The setting also caught our eye: In Come Out Fighting you'll follow the story of the USA's 761st Tank Battalion, a groundbreaking African-American armored force and which fought across the Ardennes to the castle of one of Nazi Germany's highest-ranking leaders. You may also be familiar with their nickname, the Black Panthers, or the highest profile member of the battalion, a Lieutenant named Jackie Robinson - yes, that Jackie Robinson. Or maybe you've read the book about them, Brothers in Arms: The Epic Story of the 761st Tank Battalion, WWII's Forgotten Heroes, co-written by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Yes, that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Yeah there's a lot of really cool history to follow with the unit.

The Kickstarter itself is very modest, looking to cover costs of playtesting and developing the game's rulebook, and it's already halfway to its goal of $4,000. If you've got time, we'd suggest giving it a look and considering a pledge if you're interested. It seems like a cool project that could use the support.
