Ouroboris are thought to have been the first Tyranids encountered by the Imperium, met in battle as early as the 36th millennium. In battle, Ouroboris favor massed aerial assaults, choking the skies (and enemy craft) with swarms of gargoyles and harpies.

Start by priming the model black.

Step 1. Skin

Pro Acryl Dark Grey Blue base coat.
Citadel Temple Guard Blue highlight. Mostly sticking to upward facing and projecting surfaces.
Vallejo Game Color Glacier Blue to highlight most prominent edges and light catching spots.

Step 2. Carapace

The black primer serves as your base coat here.

Vallejo Model Color German Grey layer. Covers most of surface from edges almost to recess between plates.
Vallejo Model Color Basalt Grey lines from edge of plates almost to recess. Generally picking up ridges and edges with the lines.
Vallejo Game Color Stonewall Grey lines around halfway across plates.

Step 3. Weapons/claws/Hooves/teeth

Citadel Zandri Dust for base coat. Takes a few layers to get smooth coverage.
Citadel Ushabti Bone for layer on most of the vertical and upward facing surfaces, leaving Zandri Dust in the recesses and downward facing surfaces.
Citadel Screaming Skull to highlight most prominent edges and light catching spots.
Citadel Seraphim Sepia Shade just in recesses and downward facing surfaces. Also along top edges of claws and hooves.

Step 4. Final Details

I used Pro Acryl Yellow Green for the eyes, and painted Pink Accents on the model's exposed tubing. You can find more on my method for painting pink in our Barbie article.
