Goonhammer Reacts: Corvus Belli's Adepticon Seminar

by Musterkrux, Genghis Cohen | Mar 27 2026

As is their custom, Corvus Belli held a 'seminar' at Adepticon where they showed off previews for their upcoming games - we're here to bring you the hot details, and our equally hot takes. Let's jump in!

Infinity: Hexadome Legends

A few years ago Corvus Belli released a gladiator-deathsport boardgame called Aristeia. Nominally, it was a 4v4 brawler that balanced the need to do extreme biffo to your opponent with controlling zones and carrying balls to goals. Infinity: Hexadome Legends appears to be a reboot of the Aristeia franchise.

Musterkrux: As an Aristeia tragic, this is my happy place. I see a few familiar faces and a few news ones. Very keen to see where they go with this! Aristeia is criminally under-represented in the community. These sculpts are a huge improvement on the original box release Aristos (though, to be fair, the later releases got markedly better).

Genghis Cohen: Not my jam, but it is well spoken of as a game, and with pretty decent video game representation, a very good thing for CB to support. I will continue hovering and looking for nice miniatures to cannibalise into Infinity proper.

Novels

CB announced a release schedule for several upcoming novels set in the Infinity universe:  Cyan Thunder, Directive 7, The Space Between, Team Zed 2: Fish Out of Water, The Price of Peace and even an Audio Book: Death Song. Heck yes.

Musterkrux: I read the first Infinity novel (Downfall, the introduction of Kyle Hawkins, who is a certified bad-ass) and it was thoroughly OK. However, to be fair, I'm not saying the average GW novel is better. I think the manga are a better fit for the setting but I'll never turn my nose up at new Infinity content to read either.

Genghis Cohen: Similar here with Team Zed which is getting the sequel treatment here. Perfectly fine airport reading. As with Aristeia and licensing, I think there are good steps for CB to build their brand.

CB Partners

CB spent a little time talking about their various emerging partnerships with companies such as: Warsenal, Micro Art Studio, Baron of Dice and Mindworks. CB also noted that other collaboration projects underway.

Musterkrux: I'm happy that CB is building up an ecosystem of partners to support their games but these are not new models or rules and I am a greedy jerk who is here for new models and rules.

Genghis Cohen: No, although terrain is the third army in all wargames, and Infinity far more than most. If our readers aren't aware, Warsenal and Microartstudios have made some great strides in the last couple of years in releasing whole sets of pre-colour-printed MDF terrain. These are really very elaborate kits, especially Warsenal's, and while they aren't cheap, it's a new route for players who want to have a spectacular table without a huge hobby effort.

The Human Sphere Project - Update to the Wiki

The seminar noted that a project to update and expand the Human Sphere Wiki was underway. The wiki has been a long-standing repository of knowledge for the game, this promise to expand the wiki and include information regarding the setting and fluff is an amazing development! You can find the website here.

Warcrow

Warcrow is Corvus Belli's fantasy skirmish game. We apologise, dear readers, for having not covered this game more before now. I promise you, our review is coming! Hoopoe, CB's brand ambassador for Warcrow, gave us an update on the game, particularly CB's new releases fleshing out the new Mounthaven faction (these are Fantasy Dwarves. They're short and love mining).

In addition to the Mounthaven releases, we also got a sneak peak of a few incoming additions to existing factions:

Gunnery Corporal - Hegemony of Embersig

Musterkrux: This is a Gunnery Corporal, he definitely meets the brief of being both a Corporal and someone who uses a gun to do gunnery things. That wasn't entirely fair, they can't all be bangers and the Hegemony already have the Black Angels and the War Rig.

Harvester Riders - Scions of Yaldabroth

Musterkrux: Look, honestly? You put a dude with some crazy hat and a scythe on top of a rotting zombie horse and you're gonna get my approval. I'm trying so hard not to play Scions as well as Feudom but CB just keeps doing...*gestures*...This.

Feudom Knights and Pierre Beson, Grand Magister of Losna - Feudom

Musterkrux: I'm a simple creature, I delayed jumping into Warcrow until the Fuedom faction was released because I was a Bretonnian player back in the old Fantasy days. You give me brave Knights and magical Damsels and I'm 100% in (watery" frameborder="0"> tarts throwing swords at people is an entirely optional element of the fantasy though). So, the addition of mounted Knights to the Fuedom range is a love letter addressed directly to me. Thank you, CB.

The Witch - Narrative Campaign

We don't mind a little bit of narrative to go with our wargaming, so we're happy to see CB support the story-telling side of wargaming as well as smashing out games with sharp gameplay and rules.

Infinity

Leaving the Infinity content until the end of the presentation was definitely one way to keep the fans hanging on the edge of their seats but it was absolutely worth the wait, friends.

Caledonia's Back, Baby!

The Caledonian Highlander Army is, like Shock Army of Acontecimento, getting a limited edition re-print/production run. These sculpts still hold their own quite nicely against CB's newest generation of sculpts, so this will be an excellent opportunity for anyone keen to snap up the last few missing parts of their CHA collection or just jump in head first and give their free-hand Tartan painting skills a bit of a workout.

Musterkrux: I've never been the biggest CHA fan but the models are nice and this gives me hope that other OOP armies will get love in the future.

Genghis: This is a conundrum for me - I'm not really about the CHA aesthetic, but will I ever get a chance to obtain those Mormaers again if I pass this by? Spare me, oh great FOMO!

Season 17 ITS Pack

This will come with two alternative sculpts for existing minis: the classic Hsien Warrior with HMG (it's an elite, MSV2 HI in Yu Jing and Imperial Service, for those who can't picture it) and the Japansese Mechazoid light TAG. Both lovely sculpts for punchy units, and we're sure these will be towards the high end in terms of how sought-after these packs can be.

Genghis: I own two painted Hsien HMG sculpts already, and I'm still going to try to win one of those suckers.

Musterkrux: It's not an ITS pack unless there's a Limited Edition sculpt of a TAG. I suppose it's the Mechazoid's time to shine!

Corvus Belli also gave us some lovely upcoming releases to tease us. For those of you wondering, that odd, creaking sound you heard echoing across the sky earlier was a great disturbance in the Force: ">As if millions of wallets suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly empty.

Miranda Ashcroft

Musterkrux: I love this model but I humbly submit that CB are cowards for not sculpting her with the pinky up like in the art.

Genghis: So I prefer something with a more action-y pose. I use a Namurr as my Miranda. But this sculpt definitely has attitude. Even though it's not my cup of tea (haHA!) exactly, I do have to applaud CB that they execute their own vibe perfectly. The internet is awash in sci-fi soldiers shooting guns, waving swords, clenching their fists and so on, and while there's plenty of that in Infinity, they can also do stuff like this.

Riot Grrls

Musterkrux: Nothing is wrong with the previous generation of Riot Grrls but these are definitely improvements. The earlier scupts are more static and two-dimensional while these have a bit more dynamism to them. If you didn't already have some Riot Grrls in your BJC collection, then you'll be quite happy to snap these up.

Genghis Cohen: Exactly the kind no-nonsense improvement resculpts the people need. I don't play Bakunin, but I will happily get crit by these ladies in ARO. Nice to see the Emitter represented on a model as well.

Sartroids

Genghis: Now this is not at all what I expected and they are terrific. They're so squat! It will almost stop me becoming annoyed when I play against Next Wave and the inevitable pair of Puzzlers torpedo my active turn.

Musterkrux: Yeah, this is a pleasant departure from the classic sleek-and-black classic Combined Army aesthetic. Sidenote: That gun is huge.

Gearheads

Genghis: As with Sartroids, way off what I could have imagined. I thought they were just going to be a generic support trooper, maybe wearing a snazzy alien jacket. This is like something out of the late stages of an XCOM campaign.

Musterkrux: I like the design, the pose is rad and menacing and appreciate that you can't even see the Gearhead's face or helmet under the suit. Though, this design does suspend my disbelief in as much as having a Robot Arm or other 'lifting assistance prosthetic' doesn't mean much if your legs and spine are having to support the weight of whatever you're lifting and the suit. The absence of visible leg supports is an incredibly nit-picky complaint that triggers me and, like, the three other cyberpunk rivet-counters who share my illness. In this essay I will...

As far as Next Wave releases are concerned, we also saw: Thamyris, Tekdraken Blackhearts (Cyber-Dragons are cool) and the Wraith unit. It's great to see CB circling back and filling out the Next Wave roster.

Ioann Banin - Varangian Dogwarrior

Musterkrux: 'Werewolf with an eye-scar and a Katana' was absolutely not my first Dungeons and Dragons charcter and no amount of torture will ever force me to admit that completely false allegation that is not true (Editor: methinks the good sir protests too much). However, in a completely unrelated note, Ioann Banin is as bad-ass as hell. That is all.

Genghis Cohen: Haha, unlike you I was never really into werewolves, but he's undeniably pretty cool looking. Comparisons to McMurrough are inevitable, but if, as we'd expect, he follows the 3-VITA, Transmutation concept of regular Dog-Warriors, he has potential to be an exceptional unit - more Wounds are inherently very good on units with mobility and [we assume] extra punch.

We should note that Ioann will be available to: O-12/Starmada, Kosmoflot, Tohaa, and White Company. We'll reserve judgement until we see his rules, but there is competition for the role of 'face smashing assault special character' in most of those factions. We're sitting here chuckling at how insanely stacked White Company continues to be with snowflakes.

Operation Mazebreaker

The next big box is confirmed as being Nomads (specifically the Corregidor Jurisdictional Command (CJC)) vs Aleph (specifically the Operations Sub-Section (OSS)). This will be released for the UK Games Expo at the end of May 2026. All the solid detail we have is the cover art - the CJC model is a new unit, the 'Vigilante', and we assume the Aleph model is an Asura. But there's no reason to believe it will differ from previous formats - 7 models per side, with the bulk of those forming a usable starter set for their faction, plus a little something extra. These boxes have also traditionally included a mercenary or similar unit usable by both factions, and our obvious educated guess is this will see a model for the new Ruby Monday character.

Musterkrux: Interesting to see Aleph represented. I wasn't 100% sure if it they said it was OSS or a new sectorial but I'll take the win regardless. However, I was surprised CJC was getting another Operation Noun-Verb appearance after Crimson Stone, my personal bet was on Tunguska or even Blackhand.  I look forward to expanding my Alguaciles count from 11 troopers up to 14. I'll be so close to having a full army of Aggies. Who wants a 150 point game, 15 troopers?

Genghis Cohen: Ah, you just can't admit that Corregidor is the coolest faction in the game, and they deserve it! I have played Corregidor since about 2011, in fact I only played Corregidor for many years, well into N4. This was the big news to me and I couldn't possibly be more excited.

Our honest take is that both of these factions are relatively in need of a rules refresh. They both have some decent capabilities, don't believe any internet doomer-ism about them, but in both cases a few of their profiles lag behind the meta favourites, and could use some of the pixie dust sprinkled on other factions in the October 2025 update. In terms of models, Corregidor are indeed fairly modern and well supported, OSS are a little more mixed.

New units are always welcome and we can't wait to see what CB have in store here.

Narrative Campaign

CB is partnering with several popular content creators (possibly including one 'Prolific Australian Infinity Gamer', just to call them out) to design several scenarios and accompanying materials for a Narrative Campaign. Knowing that your favorite content creators are involved in this community-engagement process is an incredibly exciting development. We look forward to hearing more about this in the coming weeks!

Timeline for releases

The next big benchmark will be at the end of May when Operation Mazebreaker drops, alongside the Narrative campaign. There are no clues yet as to what releases might hover around Gencon, and of course there will be a new ITS season as summer fades into autumn.

Final Thoughts

Genghis Cohen: Well, my expectations for Mazebreaker are sky high. I will be at the UK Games Expo myself (there will be a 5-round Satellite Tournament anyway) so am counting down the days. Apart from that, I thought the Next Wave models were extraordinary designs.

Musterkrux: I'm super jealous, Genghis! I'm happy we're getting to see a lot of CB's work across their entire stable of games. I do have one question: What about the animation that was in development? If they mentioned it during the seminar I must have missed it. I remain incredibly keen to learn more about where and when I can watch this feature!

Would have loved to see more about Mazebreaker but I suppose you have to drip-feed the excitement to keep people interested, so I suppose I'm satisfied. For now...

And that's a wrap! That's a big seminar and there'll be more announcements at the next big event.
