Start Competing: Genestealer Cults Tactics
The Tyranids are a race of ravenous, inscrutable aliens from beyond the stars, drawn to our galaxy - and Earth - by the psychic beacon of the Astronomicon. But their vanguard forces are far more subtle and insidious than the swarming hordes of the hive fleets. Ranging far ahead of of the fleets, Genestealers infiltrate worlds, corrupting their populations and creating twisted Tyranid Hybrid offspring. When the Tyranids arrive, these infected sleeper cells awaken, sowing discord and turning the world's defenses to help the arriving star children. And so even the most heavily defended world falls to the Tyranid invasion, while the Genestealer Patriarch who started the process escapes in the bedlam to find a new world to start the process over.
Faction Overview
The Genestealer Cults are made of the rebellious worker and planetary defense forces of Imperial worlds, controlled and indoctrinated by a Genestealer Patriarch. On the battlefield they wield mining lasers and improvised explosives, drive modified mining vehicles into battle, and may contain renegade regiments of the planet's Imperial Guard. Their game plan is typically based around trickery and deceit, arriving from the shadows to strike, then returning to bide their time for the next move. Their core mechanic represents this by allowing you to return dead units to the battlefield, representing both their massed numbers and the tricky nature they can pop up anywhere.
